The activities undertaken by an organisation such as FAMM Ltd. are many and varied. To give some indication of the scope of our operation, here is a necessarily abridged list:

• FAMM Ltd. negotiates and adjudicates for its members in National and International affairs.
• We also negotiate on behalf of members with State and Federal bodies to obtain production grants or other benefits.
• We offer start-up advice and assistance for new groups.
• Technical or Production advice is offered where possible.
• FAMM Ltd. allocates and maintains a "competition calendar" on an agreed, national basis.
• A library of notable, past movies is maintained and updated.
• Low cost insurance is offered through member groups..

At approximately two-yearly intervals, the Executive of the day organises a National Convention, over about a week. This is a time full of watching movies, learning about movies, enjoying fine food and seeing some of the sights as well as renewing old acquaintances from distant parts. Conventions are always well attended!

As you can probably see, our aim is to make life a little easier and more productive for members. At this time in our history, after fifty years, we are looking to expand and refine our services to remain an indispensable part of the independent movie-makers life.
